Clarifying on the problem of deactivation of Aadhaar playing cards, the Distinctive Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has stated that no Aadhaar numbers have been cancelled. It added that as part of retaining the Aadhaar database up to date, intimations are issued to Aadhaar quantity holders every now and then.“In the course of activities undertaken to keep the Aadhaar database updated, intimations are issued from time to time to Aadhaar number holders.In this connection, it is clarified that no Aadhaar number has been cancelled,” UIDAI stated.As per a report by information company PTI, in case any Aadhaar quantity holder has any grievance, they’ll submit their suggestions to UIDAI.“In case any Aadhaar number holder has any grievance in this regard, they may submit their feedback to UIDAI at this link https://uidai.gov.in/en/contact-support/feedback.html. Any such grievance will be duly addressed,” it stated.Aadhaar is probably the most generally used digital id and is getting used to avail of a number of government-provided advantages, together with subsidies.’Aadhaar deactivation as a result of technical error’In a press convention, Union Minister Shantanu Thakur stated that Aadhaar playing cards are being deactivated as a result of a technical error and all such playing cards can be reactivated within the subsequent few days. He stated that those that have confronted issues have been requested to use for the reactivation of the playing cards.The problem gained prominence after West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee alleged that the BJP-led central authorities “deactivated” Aadhaar playing cards of individuals within the state forward of the Lok Sabha polls to cease them from availing of the advantages of assorted social welfare schemes.She alleged that Aadhaar playing cards of fifty folks at Jamalpur in Purba Bardhaman district and several other others in Birbhum, North and South 24 Parganas in addition to in North Bengal have been “delinked”. She added that her authorities will proceed with the state-run welfare programmes regardless of the beneficiaries not having an Aadhaar card.
